The route is a lovely walk on the level along the river bank. The history-nature trail follows some sections of the old paths of the zattieri raftsmen, used in the age of floating timber downstream from the high plateaus of Veneto to the city ports of Padua and Venice. It is not particularly difficult and is thus suitable for everyone, even families with children and primary school classes. For school groups, the trail is 5 km long, departing from Campese (VI) and arriving in Bassano at the foot of the Ponte Vecchio bridge. For anyone else, from the centre of Valstagna, the riverside walk to Bassano is about 13 km, and from the village of Campolongo 8 km.
